Gold Star Kids Program
CrossFit Fort Bragg is continuing our commitment to honor those who fight for our country by working with a group of Gold Star kids— kids who had a parent killed in action in Iraq or Afghanistan. We started this project after the mother of one of these boys told us that her son needs to be around more men like his dad. She said she’d like for him to be able to work out around tough guys that he will aim to impress.
We plan to invite Gold Star kids to work out at the gym every Saturday for the workout. CFFB members, particularly men, are invited to join the workouts. Though this won’t be a traditional “mentoring” program, we would love to have the CFFB members who participate come as consistently as possible so that the kids will get used to seeing the same faces.
That’s it — just come and do a WOD with some great kids. You get a workout and the kids get to push themselves to impress you. Everybody wins.
